About Chad

Chad Paulson draws from more than two decades of senior in-house and C-suite experience across public, private equity-owned and privately held organizations, to advise companies and executives on complex legal, operational and strategic matters.

Chad’s in-house career spans highly regulated industries such as manufacturing, energy storage, retail, and the utility sectors, which provides him a rare perspective on how to navigate industry risk. He has led global legal, compliance, HR, commercial contracting, IP strategy, and dispute resolution functions. His work includes major M&A transactions, IPO readiness, Chapter 11 leadership, global entity structuring, and the modernization of contracting, compliance, and IP systems.. Additionally, he has delivered significant operational gains, including multimillion-dollar reductions in legal and SG&A spend, major improvements in workforce performance, and strengthened governance and risk controls.

Before joining Miller Nash, Chad served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Powin a global Battery Energy Storage company and Blount International (now Oregon Tool, Inc.), a multinational manufacturing company. He has also served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for See’s Candies, a candy manufacturer and retail company. Earlier in his career, Chad held a senior in-house counsel role at PacifiCorp, a major regulated utility serving five western states.

Chad excels at managing high-volume, high-complexity projects, driving strategy, securing favorable terms, and executing on client strategies. Clients value his pragmatic judgment and ability to translate to drive business outcomes, reduce enterprise risk, and advance long-term objectives.
