Miller Nash welcomes Neal Shechter to the firm’s litigation team. Based in the firm’s Portland office, Neal represents clients in a range of litigation matters, drawing on experience handling sophisticated commercial disputes in both national and regional practice settings. He has deep experience representing clients in state and federal court as well as in arbitration proceedings before national and regional arbitration services including AAA, JAMS, and ASP.

Before joining Miller Nash, Neal practiced at a boutique litigation firm in Portland. Earlier in his career, he worked at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in New York, where he gained experience at a global firm representing clients in high-stakes commercial litigation matters. Neal also previously served as a law clerk for a federal district court judge in the District of Connecticut.

About Neal Shechter

Neal assists businesses with complex disputes and legal challenges. He has resolved matters related to contract disputes, securities issues under both state and federal law, fiduciary duty and corporate governance issues, environmental and mass tort claims, antitrust issues, and partnership/shareholder disputes. He has also assisted business clients in responding to investigations by regulatory bodies and the U.S. Department of Justice in both antitrust and white-collar criminal defense matters. His clients have included shareholders, public issuers, privately-held corporations, and limited liability companies as well as corporate directors and officers. He received his bachelor’s degree from New York University before earning his law degree at Georgetown University Law Center.
