Leading Franchise Attorney Brittany Johnson Joins Miller Nash

Miller Nash is pleased to announce that franchise attorney Brittany Johnson has joined the firm’s franchise & distribution team. Based in the firm’s Seattle office, Brittany brings more than a decade of in-house experience at Starbucks, where she advised on complex global franchise and licensing matters.

“Brittany’s deep, in-house experience at a globally recognized brand gives her a practical, business-focused perspective that is invaluable to our clients,” said Kieran Curley, Managing Partner at Miller Nash. “Her background strengthens our ability to support franchisors navigating growth, compliance, and cross-border expansion.”

Brittany represents franchisors in general business, regulatory, and transactional matters, including franchise development, disclosure and registration, mergers and acquisitions, and international expansion. She also advises on franchisor-franchisee relations, operational issues, and trademark matters.

Miller Nash’s franchise & distribution team counsels clients on franchise development and compliance, product distribution, dispute resolution, and cross-border franchising. The team has experience across a wide range of industries, including quick service restaurants, hospitality, retail, health and fitness, home services, and consumer goods.

About Brittany Johnson
Before joining Miller Nash, Brittany spent nearly 12 years at Starbucks, where she supported the company’s U.S. licensed store portfolio and served as primary counsel for the Latin America and Caribbean region. She negotiated domestic and international licensing and partnership agreements, managed legal compliance processes, and advised on global supply chain and corporate matters. Earlier in her career, she practiced franchise law at an AmLaw 100 firm. Brittany earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado and her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
