About Julian

Julian Marrs advises public and private entities on a wide range of governance, employment, and operational matters, and helps them avoid or resolve disputes efficiently and effectively. His clients include healthcare providers, municipal corporations, businesses, special districts, educational institutions, and individuals. Julian is experienced representing clients in arbitration, administrative hearings, and before state and federal courts and appellate tribunals. He uses that varied experience to effectively guide clients through the litigation process, ensuring they understand what to expect. This helps clients make strategic, practical decisions about how to resolve disputes, whether that happens before entering the judicial process or in the courtroom.

Before joining Miller Nash, Julian practiced at a prominent Oregon law firm, guiding clients through complex litigation matters. He also served as a judicial clerk to Justice Daniel E. Winfree of the Alaska Supreme Court, gaining practical experience of how effective advocacy can impact judicial decision-making. During law school, Julian gained a range of hands-on experience clerking for a general civil litigation law firm and the Office of the Federal Public Defender, and externing for a federal magistrate judge in Portland.
