PORTLAND, Ore. – West Coast law firm Miller Nash Graham & Dunn LLP announced the appointment of partner and firm chair Dennis Rawlinson as a Managing Director of the Section of Litigation of the American Bar Association (ABA), the premier association for lawyers involved in litigation and trial practice. Rawlinson’s term begins in August, and he joins two other lawyers, Chair Steven Weiss of Chicago and Managing Director Barbara Dawson of Phoenix, in leading and managing the nearly 60,000 lawyers and judges who are members of the ABA Section of Litigation.

The ABA Section of Litigation provides trial lawyers across the country with news, information and developments pertinent to their work. During his leadership term, Rawlinson will manage the Section of Litigation—the ABA’s largest—and its dozens of committees and task forces that provide mentorship support and services. He will also convene three leadership meetings, spearhead a Section annual meeting and guide the Section of Litigation’s participation in the ABA annual meeting.

At Miller Nash Graham & Dunn, Rawlinson concentrates his practice on commercial and "bet-the-company" litigation. He has 30 years of trial experience in state and federal courts in the Pacific Northwest. In 2006, he served as the President of the Oregon State Bar. Rawlinson is also the founder of the Oregon Litigation Institute, has been named as a "Top List" Super Lawyer for Business Litigation for the State of Oregon and one of the Best Lawyers in America, is a recommended commercial litigation lawyer by Chambers USA and the Association of Corporate Counsel and is a frequent writer and speaker on litigation topics.
