Miller Nash LLP has been awarded Project of the Year by the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) Puget Sound Chapter. Partners Matthew Hansen and Tara O’Hanlon accepted the award on the team’s behalf at the IRWA Puget Sound Chapter’s annual dinner and awards ceremony on June 14, 2023.

“We are honored to be recognized by the IRWA Puget Sound Chapter for our work on this project,” said Matthew Hansen, partner and lead attorney. “This recognition is truly a reflection of the creative and innovative thinking that our attorneys and staff provide to firm clients, and the commitment we have to ensuring our clients’ successes.”

The Miller Nash team obtained a unanimous jury verdict matching the client’s valuation evidence exactly in a multi-week, 30-party, 100-percent virtual condemnation trial. The client needed to acquire the right to amend restrictive covenants to allow it to construct and operate its light rail project and the total valuation dispute was more than $5.5 million in just compensation.
