About James

James Johnson joined Miller Nash in December of 2022, focusing his practice on complex commercial litigation. With extensive experience guiding clients through matters in state and federal courts, he has performed wide-ranging legal research, drafted motions and appeals, and deposed numerous expert witnesses. James is skilled at addressing client needs in advance of litigation and counseling clients with strategies to avoid risk. He has a proven track record of obtaining favorable outcomes through settlement, arbitration, trial, and appeal.

Prior to joining private practice, James served as Deputy Prosecuting Attorney at the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. In this role, he conducted 30 trials and appeared in court on a weekly basis. Additionally, James worked in the Seattle City Attorney’s Office as a Policy Aide and Municipal Court Extern.
