Miller Nash is pleased to announce that Ally McLain has joined the firm’s employment law & labor relations team. Based in the firm’s Portland office, Ally counsels Oregon and Washington employers on compliance and litigation matters.

“I am beyond excited to join one of the most robust labor and employment groups in the Pacific Northwest. Miller Nash is an ideal platform for me to continue building my practice with a special interest in food and beverage industry clients,” said Ally.

Ally's counseling practice focuses on wage and hour compliance, navigating state and federal leave laws, workplace accommodations, workers’ compensation and prevention of discrimination, retaliation, and harassment. She also conducts independent workplace investigations addressing employee claims of discrimination (including sexual harassment), retaliation, leave law violations, and policy breaches.

Before her focus on counseling, Ally built a strong foundation in employment litigation, representing employers in state and federal court and before administrative agencies. She previously practiced employment law at regional and national law firms and briefly served as in-house counsel for an energy storage manufacturer, where she researched prevailing wage laws across the U.S. to support contract negotiations.

McLain joins Miller Nash’s eminent employment law & labor relations team which represents local, regional and national companies and public entities and institutions in all facets of labor and employment law in union and nonunion environments. Attorneys work closely with clients' human resource professionals, managers and executives and provide advice on day-to-day workplace and personnel-related matters. They also regularly conduct trainings and workshops on employment topics.
