Alexander M. Naito


Alexander M. Naito joined Miller Nash Graham & Dunn's litigation department in the fall of 2012. His practice focuses on complex construction management and defect claims, commercial property and debt disputes, and corporate shareholder litigation. Prior to Miller Nash Graham & Dunn, Alex worked at Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP as a summer clerk in 2010 and 2011. During law school Alex worked at the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office in Norristown, PA. Before attending law school Alex worked as a legal assistant at Fried, Frank Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, LLP (New York) and Thomas K. Wolf, LLC.

Representative Experience

Defended hydroelectric turbine manufacturer against claims for defective product and resulting delay. Developed defenses with hydroelectric turbine engineering and construction delay experts. Led a two-day judicial settlement conference in federal court, resulting in favorable settlement for the client.
Defended manufacturer of concrete patching repair compound against claims for defective product, indemnity, and breach of warranties. Successfully briefed and argued motion to dismiss and motion for summary judgment, resulting in dismissal of seven out of eight claims and, ultimately, a favorable settlement for the client.
Successfully deposed plaintiff's corporate representative and prepared motion for summary judgment against claim for breach of exclusive dealings contract, resulting in dismissal of plaintiff's claim of $100 million in damages.
Successfully tried state court bench trial on behalf of creditor against borrower who defaulted on business loan, resulting in judgment for full amount of the debt, over $500,000, as well as attorney fees and costs.
Successfully tried arbitration proceeding on behalf of homeowner against renovation contractor, resulting in judgment against contractor for repair costs to fix defectively installed siding and windows, as well as attorney fees and costs.
