Andrea Barton Rejoins Miller Nash as Partner

University and education law leader, Andrea Barton, rejoins Miller Nash as a partner on the firm’s education and employment law & labor relations teams. She previously served as general counsel for the University of Portland for six years, including four years as a vice president. Andrea has extensive experience in advising institutions of higher education both from her prior work with Miller Nash and her work as general counsel. In addition, Andrea’s practice with the firm and in-house has included advice and counsel on all aspects of employment law, including issues surrounding tenure and promotion in higher education, student issues such as Title IX and disability accommodations, crisis management, and regulatory compliance.

About Andrea Barton
In addition to her education law practice, Andrea represents local and national businesses and individuals in breach-of-contract actions, tort claims, civil-rights claims, and employment matters, including wage and hour, disability discrimination and accommodation, retaliation, employment discrimination, and wrongful discharge. She has experience in all aspects of complex commercial litigation. During law school, she spent a summer at the Oregon Supreme Court externing for former Chief Justice Paul DeMuniz. Andrea received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame before earning her law degree at Notre Dame Law School, where she graduated cum laude.
