Taylor D. Richman, Ph.D.

Taylor's practice focuses on advising and representing public and private educational institutions from preschool through higher education. Taylor has represented school districts and institutions of higher education in special education matters, in state and federal court, and before state and federal agencies. He regularly advises educational institutions on matters concerning special and general education processes and obligations.

Taylor’s litigation experience includes cases under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Section 1983, the First Amendment and Constitutional Due Process, Title IX, and other state and federal statutes and legal claims related to students, parents, employees, and faculty in both K-12 education and higher education. Taylor works closely with educational institutions to advance their interests by not only advocating for them in legal disputes, but also understanding how the legal and educational issues relate to the greater mission of the institution.

Taylor holds a Ph.D. in multicultural and special education and a master's degree in special education, with an emphasis on students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. He is a former youth mentor and public school special education teacher.
