Lisa Peterson

Paralegal

Lisa Peterson joined Miller Nash Graham & Dunn in 2006. She is a senior paralegal with more than twenty years of experience in the legal field. She specializes in complex business and financial institutions litigation. She also has extensive experience in commercial judicial and non-judicial foreclosures, garnishments, and executions. Lisa is skilled in all aspects of litigation including document management, discovery, and trial preparations.

From 1984 to 2002, Lisa worked in the legal department of U.S. Bancorp, where she assisted attorneys in a wide variety of practice areas, including commercial transactions, workouts, foreclosures, and mergers and acquisitions. She ultimately became a member of the team responsible for managing defensive litigation in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and California. Her responsibilities included hiring outside counsel, conducting factual research, case organization and document production. Additionally, she was responsible for handling lawsuits in which the corporation or any of its subsidiaries was named as a defendant by virtue of its secured interest in real property, and the processing of restraining orders. She independently managed small claims cases, including frequent representation of the company at mediations and hearings. She researched, analyzed, and responded to consumer complaints filed with the Comptroller of the Currency or various state agencies, and assisted branch personnel with a variety of issues involving customer accounts.

Taking a brief hiatus from the legal world , from 2002 to 2004, Lisa managed a small sign company. In that role she was responsible for all aspects of business management and evaluated the company's business processes and procedures. Based on her recommendations, the company streamlined operations between the front office and shop, organized its accounting functions, and reduced its spending.

Lisa enjoys using her time to assist attorneys at the YWCA of Clark County SafeChoice Legal Clinic which offers pro bono legal services to victims of domestic violence.
