Nicholas A. Valera
Nicholas “Nick” Valera focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, regularly working on matters in state, federal, and appellate courts, in addition to matters pending before administrative boards. In his diverse litigation practice, he has experience with disputes spanning administrative agency actions, corporate governance, securities, real estate, insurance coverage, products liability, trade secrets, and intellectual property. Nick also devotes part of his practice to counseling clients on environmental law and regulations, natural resources, and renewable energy matters.
Outside of the firm, Nick is committed to public and community service. Nick is an officer in the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps in the Washington Army National Guard, serving as defense counsel in Trial Defense Services. He is an active member of the Western District of Washington’s Pro Bono panel. Before law school, Nick served in the United States Peace Corps as an agroforestry volunteer assisting small rural farmers with integrated agricultural production and environmental education to improve their food production, nutrition, and income. Nick also served as an Americorps volunteer working with an organization providing refugee resettlement and education services in South King County.

Nick enjoys reading, keeping up with the news, everything music, and anything outdoors, specifically camping and fishing.
