About Tyler

Tyler Bowlin is a skilled legal advisor and problem solver, supporting clients that operate in highly regulated sectors including environmental law and petroleum.

In Tyler’s broad environmental practice, he represents owners, buyers and sellers on a wide range of matters, including due diligence, negotiation of agreements (including purchase and sale, access, and consultant agreements), and development of work plans relating environmental remediation, allocation of liability, and insurance coverage.

Tyler also supports clients on issues related to contaminated sites, water, air, waste, and environmental impact/land use. From performing leak-detection and repair services on oil fields throughout California to advising on one of the largest environmental cleanup projects in the United States, his experience at both the field and executive levels of environmental compliance gives him a comprehensive understanding of environmental law.

Tyler regularly represents clients before state and federal agencies as well as specialized regulatory bodies, including California’s Department of Toxic Substances Control; California Geologic Energy Management Division (formerly known as the Division of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources); Regional Water Quality Control Boards; regional air quality management districts; and others. He has litigated complex disputes for global companies—including national and regional businesses—through the entire litigation cycle, as well as helping clients mitigate risks and liabilities. Tyler also assists with matters relating to admiralty and maritime law, including arrests and attachments.
