NEWS: Miller Nash Promotes Three to Partner
SEATTLE – Jan. 11, 2010 – Miller Nash LLP has promoted three attorneys to partner. In their new roles, Lisa Lui and Adam Hughes, practicing in the firm's Seattle office, and Jason Conger, based in Bend, Ore., will be directly responsible for providing legal services to Miller Nash's portfolio of clients.

Lisa Lui (Seattle)
Lui joined Miller Nash in 2006 in the business department, focusing on real estate and construction law. She represents clients from a wide range of industries, including healthcare, higher education, real estate development, not-for-profit and tribal. Her practice also includes representing debtors and creditors in insolvency matters.
Lui is admitted to practice law in the state of Washington, as well as before the U.S. District Court and U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western and Eastern districts of Washington. She serves on the board of directors for the Asian Bar Association of Washington and is a member of the American Bar Association, Washington Bar Association and King County Bar Association. She has been licensed in Washington since 2003.
Lui received her bachelor's degree in legal studies from the University of California, Berkeley. She received her law degree and master's degree in public administration from the University of Washington.
Adam Hughes (Seattle)
Hughes joined Miller Nash in 2003. He focuses his practice primarily on business and employment litigation, and has successfully litigated multiple cases involving issues arising out of construction defects, products liability, wage-and-hour disputes, race discrimination allegations, disability discrimination allegations, and stock option compensation.
Hughes is a member of the litigation section of the American Bar Association, the Washington State Bar Association, and the King County Bar Association. He is admitted in the federal district courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Washington. Hughes is also a member of the Washington Young Lawyers Division and King County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division.
He earned his bachelor's degree in economics, with honors, at the University of Chicago, where he was also captain of the baseball team and received the 1998 Amos Alonzo Stagg Medal. He earned his law degree at the University of Michigan Law School.
Jason Conger (Bend, Ore.)
Conger joined Miller Nash in 2009. His practice focuses on corporate, securities and venture capital law. He represents emerging companies in general corporate matters, as well as a broad range of complex transactions, including real estate syndications, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and stock and bond offerings. Conger is counsel to companies in the healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, and software industries, and has represented investment banks and venture capital firms in public and private financings. He has worked on transactions involving companies in Canada, Australia, France, Korea, Japan, China, Singapore, Germany, the United Kingdom and throughout the United States.
Before he began practicing law, Conger served four years as a congressional aide, co-founded a successful real estate investment company, and was involved in the business development and management of several private companies. While attending law school, Conger was a teaching fellow at the Harvard Department of Government and at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society, an Internet think tank affiliated with Harvard Law School. After graduating, he was appointed adjunct professor of law at the University of San Diego School of Law.
Conger is a founder and principal of Cornerstone Realty Holdings, a company that acquires and manages multifamily properties. In addition, Conger serves on the board of directors of: PV Trackers, Inc., a renewable energy company headquartered in Bend, Ore.; Revenue Cycle Partners, a manager of hospital receivables headquartered in Billings, Mont.; Pixelsilk, Inc., a search and content-management software company headquartered in Bend, Ore.; and Trinity Lutheran Church in Bend, Ore. He previously served on the board of directors of the North Coast Small Business Development Center and the 41st Agricultural District of California and the California Small Business Development Advisory Council.
Conger is a member of the state bars of Oregon and California, the American Bar Association and the Deschutes County Bar Association. He received his bachelor's degree from California State University, Humboldt, in 1997 and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2000.
