Miller Nash Adds Four Associates To Portland Legal Team
Associates Hired from Pool of Candidates Participating in 2008 Summer Clerk Program
PORTLAND, Ore. – Oct. 12 2009 –Miller Nash LLP, one of the Pacific Northwest's larger multispecialty law firms focusing on business and litigation, has hired four new associates for its Portland, Ore. office. Madeline Engel, William Fisher, Julie Jarvis and Brian Sniffen all join the firm as associates, following a successful introduction to Miller Nash through its 2008 summer clerk program. "The Miller Nash summer clerk program provides aspiring attorneys with an opportunity to gain firsthand experience in real-life matters, as well as gain insight to career expectations post graduation," said Don Burns, managing partner of Miller Nash. "It also gives us an opportunity to evaluate fresh, new talent, and we are pleased to welcome four of our most recent participants as full-time associates. Their passion for the law, exceptional standards for achievement and commitment to community will contribute to the high level of client service Miller Nash provides."
Madeline Engel joins Miller Nash in the litigation practice group. After receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, Engel graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law, where she served as executive editor of the Oregon Law Review. Admitted to practice in the state of Oregon, she is a member of the Oregon State Bar.
William Fisher is an associate with Miller Nash's business practice team. He holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Brigham Young University, and prior to entering law school, he served as a liability insurance adjuster for Grocers Insurance. Fisher graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law, where he was staff editor for the Oregon Law Review. He is admitted to practice in Oregon and is a member of the Oregon State Bar.
Julie Jarvis is an associate with the business practice team of Miller Nash. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Prior to entering law school, she completed a stint as office manager with Ponzi Vineyards. She attended Willamette University's College of Law, where she was an active member of the Willamette Law Review and the moot court. Jarvis is admitted to practice in the state of Oregon and is a member of the Oregon State Bar.
Brian Sniffen has joined Miller Nash in the litigation practice group. Sniffen attended the University of Washington for his undergraduate studies, earning a bachelor's degree in biology and serving as a teaching and research assistant. He went on to attend Gonzaga University's School of Law, where he was vesting editor for the Gonzaga Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Honors Council. Admitted to practice in Oregon, Sniffen is a member of the Oregon State Bar.
