Professional Experience
Monica Langfeldt joined the Miller Nash business department in 2004. Her practice is centered on corporate and business matters as well as nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations. She supports nonprofit organizations in matters such as qualification for tax exemption, intermediate sanctions, creation of support organizations, unrelated business income tax, charitable solicitations, and tax-exempt bond financing. Monica also represents nonprofit organizations with regard to local and state tax obligations. In addition, she represents clients in tax controversies with state and local agencies.

Professional Activities
Monica is admitted to practice in Washington, New York, and Connecticut. She is a member of the Business Law, Health Law, and Taxation Law sections of the Washington State Bar Association. Monica also teaches a nonprofit class, "How to Start a Nonprofit Organization," and is a member of the King County Bar Association Nonprofit Legal Clinic. Additionally, she is a member of the Norwegian American Chamber of Commerce and teaches NBI CLE on "Tax and Business Answers for Nonprofits."

Education
Monica received her bachelor's degrees in finance and economics from the University of Idaho. Her law degree was received from Seton Hall University School of Law and her LL.M. in taxation from the University of Washington School of Law. Monica is fluent in Norwegian and German.
