Richard A. Canaday joined Miller Nash in 1973. He has been a member of the Oregon State Bar since 1973 and has been a member of the Washington State Bar Association since 1987. Rich has been a partner of the firm since 1979. His practice involves commercial financial transactions, commercial transactions covered by the Uniform Commercial Code, real estate transactions, environmental, and land use, and representing officers, directors, and owners of entities involved in business.
Rich has represented (1) sellers, buyers, owners, tenants, and lenders in real estate transactions, (2) lenders and lender syndicates in documenting secured and unsecured credit facilities and in “working out” problem loans, (3) the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation and the Resolution Trust Corporation in closing failed thrift institutions and in managing receivership assets, and (4) a number of general corporate clients in transactional and governance matters.
