PORTLAND, Ore. (Oct. 16, 2012) – Miller Nash LLP partner Elisa Dozono has been appointed chair of the Oregon Lottery Commission, which oversees the governance of the Oregon Lottery. Gov. John Kitzhaber nominated her to the position, and the Oregon Senate confirmed the appointment.
“I have every confidence in Elisa to bring steady leadership to the Commission,” said Gov. Kitzhaber. “Her experience with a wide variety of issues affecting the state will be a valuable addition to the Commission’s important work on behalf of Oregonians.”

About Elisa Dozono
Dozono focuses her legal practice on business litigation and government relations. She is cofounder and immediate past president of the Oregon Asian Pacific American Bar Association (
OAPABA), current commissioner and former chair of the Metropolitan Exposition Recreation Commission (
MERC) and a member of the Governor’s Judicial Screening Committee, as well as being involved with a variety of other professional organizations. Dozono also has more than 11 years of experience in communications management and government relations, having worked for elected leaders ranging from President Bill Clinton to Mayor Vera Katz and Gov. Kitzhaber. Dozono also worked for the Port of Portland and KATU-TV. She externed for the Honorable Ann Aiken of the U.S. District Court of Oregon.
Dozono is the founding president of Emerge Oregon, serves on the board of Albina Opportunities Corporation, and is a member of a number of other civic organizations. She has been listed in Oregon
Super Lawyers magazine as a Rising Star since 2008 and received a 40 Under 40 Award from the
Portland Business Journal in 2009, the
Daily Journal of Commerce Up & Coming Lawyers Outstanding Professional Organization Involvement Award in 2010, and the Emerging Leadership Award from the Oregon Area Jewish Committee in 2010. Earlier this year she received an Orchid Award, recognizing women of influence, from the
Portland Business Journal.
Dozono earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Boston University’s College of Communications before receiving her law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School. Dozono is a fourth-generation Portlander.
