Leila J. Javanshir

Leila Javanshir is a certified information privacy professional (CIPP-US) and a member of the firm’s business practice. Leila began her career with the firm as a summer associate in 2017, assisting with matters involving privacy, data security, intellectual property, vendor contracting, and federal and state regulatory compliance. A significant part of Leila’s practice includes providing privacy compliance advice and drafting consumer-facing privacy policies and terms that comply with applicable privacy and data protection frameworks.

Leila has written on both the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). During law school, as the Symposium Chair of Seattle University Law Review, Leila organized a seminar that focused on the implementation of the GDPR. The seminar brought together privacy and data security experts from around the world to discuss the current and future effects of the new regulation. Leila also volunteered as a legal advocate with the University of Washington’s Immigrant Families Advocacy Project, where she assisted in obtaining U visas for her clients.

Prior to law school, Leila worked as a patent paralegal at a Seattle law firm, and served as a public defense paralegal and investigator assistant.
