Kevin S. Ross

Kevin’s varied experience has made him a well-rounded counselor who knows what it’s like to be in his clients’ shoes. Kevin began his career at a large IP firm in Seattle learning the best ways to craft and prosecute patent applications. He then practiced in Milan, Italy as a U.S. patent specialist helping Italian companies secure US patents, while also learning European patent law and practice. After three years at Marger Johnson, he joined one of his clients, Ambric, as its director of Intellectual Property, developing and implementing Ambric’s IP plan. While at Ambric, Kevin generated over 40 patent applications to secure protection of Ambric’s technology throughout the world. Since returning to private practice in 2007, Kevin has helped several early and mid-stage companies evaluate their IP portfolios for maximum value. Kevin has experience drafting or prosecuting domestic and international patent applications in: reconfigurable computing; digital circuits; video compression; computer memory systems such as DRAM, SRAM, SDRAM, EEPROM, and Flash EEPROM; semiconductor fabrication; gaming systems, accelerometers; medical devices; camera lenses; and Internet business systems, among others.

Kevin received his degree in Computer Science from Westminster College and studied Electrical Engineering in a graduate program at the University of Missouri at Columbia. Kevin received his Juris Doctor, Order of the Barrister, from University of Missouri at Columbia in 1993. During law school, Kevin was a member of the Journal of Dispute Resolution. He placed first in the local moot court trial competition. He was president of Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity and chaired the student Honor Committee.
