Our Statement of Diversity

Miller Nash believes that diversity creates a broader, richer environment that produces more creative and sensitive thinking and solutions. Our firm recognizes that a healthy work environment and improved work product require a diversity of people and ideas. We are committed to diversity in our workplace as a critical factor in our efforts to provide a welcoming work environment and superior service to our clients and our community. Miller Nash’s strategic plan lists commitment to diversity as a core value for the firm. Our diversity plan is guided by a diversity committee; members of this 12-person committee include the managing partner, the hiring partner, the recruitment director, and the director of legal support services. The diversity committee ensures: (1) the firm’s continued effort in minority recruitment, at both the attorney and staff levels, (2) participation in organizations that support diversity in the law or the business communities in the Northwest, (3) implementation of Miller Nash’s diversity fellowship program for law students, and (4) presenting internal programs on diversity in the workplace and elimination of bias. Miller Nash also does significant pro bono work for entities that support minorities in businesses in the Northwest. Miller Nash is involved with the following…
